Menu
1.
New: Using new
command of file menu we can create new blank document. It can create new file
and close current file.
·
Click on file menu.
·
Then click on new command. (Dialog Box Appears)
·
And choose blank document. (Note: Click on new icon of standard toolbar/press ctrl+n)
2. Save: It is used to
save document when you are saving a new document for the first time, you have
to give it a name.
·
Have a document and click on file menu.
·
Click on save command. (Dialog box appears)
·
Click on location where you are want to save the
file.
·
Then type the name of file in file name text box.
·
At last click on save button.
3. Close: This option is use to close
the active document.
·
If you have a document then click on file menu.
·
Click on close button.
4. Open: Using open option, we can
open pre-saved file most of the times you need to work with a file that you
have already created and saved.
·
Click on file menu.
·
Click on open command. (Dialog box appears)
·
Choose the location where the file was saved.
·
Choose the required file from the list. And click on
open button.
5. Save As: The option helps us to save
document in different place, name and location. It also helps us assign
password to protect document.
·
Click on file menu having required document.
·
Then click on save as command.
·
And change the location or current file named or do
both.
·
Then click on save button.
6. Save Document-assigning Password:
·
Have a document and click on file menu.
·
Then click on save as command. (Dialog box appears)
·
And click on tools button and choose general option
or security option; then dialog box appears.
·
Fill the requirement which is disappears.
·
At last click on ok button and click on save button.
7. Page Setup: Using the command, we can
set page margin, size etc. It helps us set top margin, bottom margin, left
margin, and right margin for current document. It also allows choosing page
orientation and page size.

Having a required document.

Then click on file menu F Page Setup (Dialog box
appears)
·
Click on Margin Tab for define top, button, left and
right margins as per your requirement.
·
Again click on Paper Size Tab for paper height and
with, landscape and portrait.
·
At last click on ok button.
8. Print Preview: It helps to view the
document in actual size. Whatever display on this preview that will be exact
output on the paper size.

Click on file menu.
·
Then click on print preview.
9. Print: Using this command we can
print out document on paper with required number of copies.
·
Click on file menu.
·
Click on print command.
·
Then fills the options given in dialog box.
·
Click on ok button.
10. Exit: This command is used to exit from MS-Word.
·
Click on file menu.
·
Then click on Exit command.
Edit Menu
1. Undo: To revert first action.
·
Click on edit menu.
·
Then click on Undo command.
2. Redo (Repeat): To revert last action.
·
Click on edit menu.
·
Then click on Redo command.
3. Cut: To cut or move the text.
·
Select the text that you want to move.
·
Click on edit menu.
·
Then click on Cut command.
·
And position the cursor at desired location where
you want to display the cut text.
·
Again click on edit menu and click on paste command.
4. Copy: To copy the text.
·
Select the text.
·
Click on edit menu.
·
Then click on Copy command.
·
Then position the cursor at desired location where
you want to display the copy text.
·
So click on edit menu and click on paste command.
5. Select All: It is used to select whole
document once at a time.
·
Click on edit menu.
·
Then click on Select All command.
6. Find: Using find command we can
search any text word in MS-Word program.
·
Click on edit menu.
·
Then click on Find command. (Dialog box appears)
·
In the find what box enters the text you want to
search for.
·
Then click on more and choose find whole words only.
·
And click on find next button.

Replace: Using replace
command we can replace mistake word in correct word.
·
Click on edit menu.
·
Then click on Redo command.
8.
Go To: Using this
command we can jump our cursor at required destination. It helps to jump at
required page and line number.
·
Click on edit menu placing cursor at required
position.
·
Then click on go t command. (Dialog box appears)
·
And choose required go to option. And define number
of go to.
·
Then click on go to button and click on close
button.
